Today, all eyes are on Yarmouth at Sky Sports Racing, where a seven-race programme begins at 1.30pm…

2.00 Yarmouth – Attack faces El Burhan

An exciting competition that sees well-bred newcomers compete against experienced rivals in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes.

John and Thady Gosden have produced many fine new recruits at Yarmouth over the years and today could be no exception with attack who cost £460,000 as a yearling. He is out of a Group One winning mare and should be watched very closely in the market, particularly with Oisin Murphy in the saddle.

El Burhan ran an encouraging debut at Newmarket when he potentially failed to negotiate the dip before re-entering on the rising ground. With that experience under his belt he could be the one to back here when he steps up the distance to seven furlongs.

Middleham Park purchased Van Aert for £130,000 at the Breeze Up sales – just like The Platinum Queen did before moving up to Group One – so he too is a serious stallion. Hollie Doyle takes the reins for the two-year-old’s debut under current rules.

3.45 Yarmouth – Three winners of the last game fight

Watermelon sugar perhaps needing a comeback after a break two starts ago, he did well over the same six furlongs last time out at Lingfield. He comes into the race on the same note and must be considered despite his difficulties last time out at Yarmouth a year ago.

Course and distance winner Float in the wind had today’s rival By Jay Kay He was four lengths back in second place 23 days ago and could be hard to beat if he arrives in the same form. Em Kay Jay finished strongly on his last outing at Newmarket and a similar performance would give him every chance.

Phillip McBride saddles the filly Rhythmic applause who came out on top on the course and distance last time out, but with a 5lb increase and without Morgan Cole taking the 5lbs back off, this could be a step too far.

4.20 Yarmouth – Rascal Recknell clashes with War Bride

In this field of 12 horses there could be a very well handicapped horse lurking. Daily free bet handicap from Quinnbet.

Kevin Phillipart de Foy Saddles Rascal Recknell who looked like a very good horse last time and a starting mark of 80 could look very silly at 4.25 given the recent successes of Benoit De La Sayette.

War bride has been a model of consistency in her four runs so far and will be ridden by champion jockey William Buick, who guided Rebel’s Romance to a stunning victory in Hong Kong on Saturday.

Peak weight Nazalan now has a very capable 5lb claimer on his back in Kaiya Fraser and could be the each-way angler here on his second attempt over a course of seven furlongs.
