Four-year-old girl dies in rain-related incident in Yadgir

The pre-monsoon rains accompanied by heavy thunderstorms and winds have disrupted normal life in Yadgir district and also claimed the life of a four-year-old girl in Gurmitkal town.

The girl lived in the Uppargadda area of ​​Gurmitkal town.

The girl died when a stone lying on a tin roof fell on her. She was sleeping with her mother when the incident happened.

A case has been registered at Gurmitkal police station in this regard.

Many parts of the district, including Yadgir town, were hit by thunderstorms and strong winds as well as heavy rain on Sunday evening.

The trees on the side of the state highway connecting Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, to Yadgir and other parts of the state and on the main road between Shahapur and Yadgir fell on the road surface due to strong winds. Traffic was affected until the obstructions were removed.

No power supply

Power was cut off for several hours after cables and power poles were reportedly damaged. Rural areas were without electricity until this morning.

Houses damaged

Nearly 20 houses with tin roofs were reportedly damaged across the district, and the number may rise.

Most of the low-lying areas in rural areas were flooded by rainwater.
