General Hospital star Johnny Wactor shot dead in suspected theft

Johnny Wactor, a soap opera actor best known for his work in General Hospitalwas shot dead during a suspected robbery in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old was shot around 3 a.m. on Saturday by three men who tried to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle, Los Angeles police said.

Police said they responded to a 911 call at about 3:25 a.m. in the area of ​​Pico Boulevard and Hope Street and transported Wactor to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspects fled in a vehicle. No arrests have been made so far. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

“Johnny Wactor was an extraordinary actor and friend,” said Wactor’s agent Sarabeth Schedeen The Hollywood Reporter.

“The light of the world has grown dimmer today. His many enviable gifts included generosity, devotion, discipline, empathy and unparalleled perseverance.

“He was also a real athlete. He put a lot of physical effort into himself both privately and professionally.”

“In a rollercoaster industry, and in our many years together, he handled life’s ups and downs with optimism and grace. Johnny represented moral greatness in all areas. He is a profound loss to all who worked with him and knew him.”

Wactor was known for his role as Brando Corbin in the long-running soap opera General Hospitaland appeared in 164 episodes from 2020 to 2022.

A statement posted on social media on Sunday said: General Hospital paid tribute to him, writing: “The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of the untimely passing of Johnny Wactor.

“He was truly one of a kind and it was a joy to work with him every day. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”

General Hospital stars Parry Shen and Jon Lindstrom also posted messages on X. Shen wrote, “Johnny Wactor was a beautiful soul. So talented. As you can see in the promo clip, he was always up for anything. Hilarious.”

Lindstrom wrote, “As the tears slowly dry up, I am literally sick to my stomach over this news. Johnny was one of those rare young men in this business who was kind, modest, humble and always thinking of other people. A talented young man who just wanted to share that talent with the world.”

Ashton Arbab, who played Wactor’s son on General Hospital, wrote on social media, “I am absolutely heartbroken as I write this. Johnny Wactor was not only my TV dad on over 25 episodes of General Hospital, but he was also an amazing human being, a kind soul, an inspiration on and off set, and a one-of-a-kind actor. His talent never ceased to amaze me and allowed me to learn so much about the craft just by watching his work. I am forever grateful for the time I was able to spend and work with him.”

Wactor was born in 1986 in Charleston, South Carolina. He made his television debut in the Lifetime drama series Army women in 2007 and appeared in guest roles on shows such as The OA, Station 19, AgentX, Criminal ThoughtsAnd Westworld.
