Court remands teenager in custody for alleged rape of 25-year-old woman |

An Iyaganku Magistrate Court in Ibadan, Oyo State has remanded 19-year-old Tunde Fidela to Agodi Correctional Facility for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman.

Police charged the teenager, whose address was not given, with rape before a court in the Oyo state capital.

The magistrate, S. Babalola, rejected Fidela’s application due to lack of jurisdiction.

Babalola ordered the police to return the file to the Attorney General for legal advice.

She adjourned the hearing of the case until July 1, 2024.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Segun Adegboye, told the court that the suspect allegedly committed the offence on May 14, 2024, at about 1am in the Ile-Ido area of ​​Ibadan.
