Man arrested after shooting and killing person in Delaware – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Kent County man was arrested Sunday in connection with a shooting that killed a Dover man, according to Delaware police.

Dover police officers were called to a shooting near New Castle Avenue and East Water Street in Dover’s Capitol Green neighborhood shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found 29-year-old Jonair Pollard with a gunshot wound to the upper body, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation led officers to determine that 59-year-old William Mills was the suspect in the shooting, officials said.

Officers from the Dover Police Department’s Special Operations Response Team arrested Mills without incident on Sunday, police said.

Mills is being held on $250,000 bail and faces murder and weapons charges, according to authorities.
