Alpharetta Department of Public Safety closes road to investigate crash that killed three teenagers – WSB-TV Channel 2

ALPHARETTA, Georgia – The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety has announced that a section of the Westside Parkway will be closed for an investigation.

On Tuesday, May 28, the northbound Westside Parkway between Maxwell Road and Hembree Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for accident investigation related to the fatal May 14 car crash that killed three people.

There were five people in the car.

Two of them were pronounced dead at the scene: 18-year-old Joshi and 18-year-old Sriya Avasarala.

The following day, the Fulton County Coroner announced that a third accident victim, 18-year-old Anvi Sharma, had died in the hospital.

Last week, Channel 2 Action News Police said the initial investigation indicates speed was a factor in the crash. Police believe the driver lost control, the vehicle rolled over and landed upside down in the tree line.
