Drunk man rams police officers who were called to another accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – A man was arrested following a crash Saturday night. Officials said he was intoxicated.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department (APD), two Public Service Aides (PSAs) were responding to an accident on I-25 SB when another accident occurred around 9:30 p.m.

According to APD, Nathaniel Lucero was drunk and driving a Chevy Trailblazer that crashed into the PSA vehicle. Due to the force of the impact, the PSA vehicle struck another police vehicle. One PSA was trapped, another was found injured in the roadway.

The PSAs were hospitalized and released. Lucero was also taken to the hospital. He is charged with several offenses, including drunken driving and aggravated assault with a vehicle.
