The two-vehicle crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Kingston Adelphi Road, near State Route 159, in Pickaway Township.

PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio – A 15-year-old boy and a 46-year-old man were killed Wednesday following a crash in southern Pickaway County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Kingston Adelphi Road, near State Route 159, in Pickaway Township.

The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office said the teenager, John Curtis, was driving a Hyundai eastbound with Joe Curtis in the passenger seat when he veered off the right side of the road. John allegedly overcorrected and the vehicle veered into the westbound lane.

As the Hyundai moved into the other lane, it crashed into a Ford 350.

According to officials, when the two vehicles collided, the Hyundai drove into a ditch and the Ford came to a stop.

John and Joe were trapped in the Hyundai, the sheriff’s office said.

When emergency responders arrived, they were able to free John from the vehicle. He was flown to Grant Medical Center and later taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where he died three days later.

Joe was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene of the accident.

The truck driver was treated and released on site.

The crash remains under investigation.
