53-year-old arrested after further OWI arrests on the same night

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – A 53-year-old man was arrested Friday night after additional drunken driving arrests, Janesville police report.

According to police, the first incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. A Janesville police officer responded to a report of a traffic complaint and was dispatched to the area between Milton Avenue and Blackbridge Road.

A caller allegedly told dispatchers that a vehicle was lying all over the road. Police spotted the vehicle in the 1200 block of N. Ringold Street and made a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle allegedly showed signs of alcohol impairment.

According to police, the driver was arrested after failing a breathalyzer test and was charged with first-degree drunk driving.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., another Janesville police officer reported a vehicle traveling 15 mph over the speed limit on Milton Avenue near Mount Zion Avenue. The vehicle was traveling southbound and allegedly left the lane.

After the officer stopped the vehicle, a breathalyzer test was administered, which the driver failed. It was reported that the driver had just left a nearby bar and was still under the influence of alcohol.

A 53-year-old Janesville man was arrested and booked into the Rock County Jail on two counts of DUI.
