Drunk driver rams truck into house in Panna, 1 dead; jail guard charged over alleged rape of teenager in Agar Malwa

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a terrible accident on Sunday, a truck crashed into a roadside house in Panna district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. One person died and three others were seriously injured.

According to information, the accident occurred on Saturday evening around 1:30 am in the village of Bhusada, which is about 50 kilometers away from the district headquarters.

Allegedly, the driver of the truck was driving at high speed and lost control, ramming the truck into the property wall and then hitting the family members who were sleeping in the yard of the house at the time of the accident.

Among the injured is a 55-year-old woman who died in the accident. Three other family members suffered serious injuries in the accident. The injured are currently being treated in the district hospital.

The driver of the truck was caught by the villagers. The driver was allegedly drunk while driving. The villagers handed the driver over to the police.

Prison guard charged with alleged rape of teenager in Agar Malwa

In a recent incident, police have filed a complaint against a jail guard for sexually assaulting a 22-year-old pretrial inmate. He is accused of raping a minor on Sunday. The incident was reported from Agar Malwa, Madhya Pradesh.

According to information, the prison guard Roop Singh Jadhav was charged after the investigating magistrate submitted a complaint to Shivani Sharma, the Chief Magistrate, during Agar Malwa’s visit to the district jail on Saturday.

Anil Malviya, superintendent of Agar Malwa Kotwali police station, alleged that the investigating magistrate had accused the prison officer of sexual exploitation.

The convict was booked in April 2022 for alleged rape of a minor under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
