Mutilated woman’s body found in Mysuru forest; forest officials suspect tiger attack

A 48-year-old woman was allegedly mauled to death by a tiger near Moorband Betta in HD Kote taluk on Saturday night after her mutilated body was found in the early hours of Sunday, official sources said.

The deceased was identified as Chikki from Malada Haadi in N Begur panchayat district.

According to the authorities, the woman was attacked by a tiger while raising goats. The big cat dragged her body into the forest area.

The woman’s family members, villagers and forest workers had already started searching for her on Saturday, official sources said. Her mutilated body was found near a forest watchtower on Sunday morning.

Police and forestry officials visited the site. Antarasante police have registered a case.
