A convicted rapist under house arrest in Belgium was arrested after he put an ankle bracelet on his British bulldog and then went to a festival.

Ladislas Leys removed his ankle bracelet after being convicted of rape so he could attend a festival in Houthalen-Helchteren in the Belgian province of Limburg. The 36-year-old is a notorious restaurant entrepreneur who was convicted of fraud after failed deals in Ghent and Antwerp.

At the end of 2023, he was also sentenced to four years in prison for rape, but was allowed to serve his sentence under house arrest and wearing an ankle bracelet. However, the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office told local media how he took off his ankle bracelet and put it on his British bulldog dog so that he could attend a festival on Saturday evening, May 18.

I don’t know the exact background.” He added: “We will try to clarify this as quickly as possible.” The public prosecutor’s office confirmed that Leys is now in prison and serving his sentence. It is currently unclear whether he will be allowed to serve his sentence under house arrest again.
