Woman shares beautiful texts she received after car accident – InspireMore

In an instant, our whole lives can change. That’s what happened to Ang after a car accident in 2022. She was only 18 years old at the time and paralyzed as a result of the accident. This was obviously devastating news and her recovery process was not easy. Still, Ang couldn’t be more grateful to have been given a second chance at life. The paramedics who came to her aid are, of course, part of the reason this is possible.

If you’ve never been a paramedic, you might think they don’t care that much about the people they help. After all, they help so many people. Ang probably thought so too – at least until she started getting texts from the very paramedics who saved her life. It turns out they were asking how she was long after the accident.

Text from a paramedic on August 15, 2022: Hi. I'm the paramedic who cared for you on site before you left. I'll be honest. Many of us are still thinking of you all and hoping you recover. Some calls bother us even after they're over and yours was one of them.
Tick Tock

As the paramedic explains in the text above, some of the calls stay with them for a long time. Often they receive little to no updates afterwards, leaving them wondering. According to many comments on Ang’s post, this experience is actually very common.

Paramedics who saved a teenager’s life reach out to her with heartwarming text messages

“As paramedics, we wonder how you are. We think about you days, weeks, months and years later,” one person says. “Hearing from you heals a part of us that breaks for you.”

“My husband is a paramedic and I am a trauma therapist for paramedics,” writes another. “They need to hear that their work is working.”

Text from a paramedic on September 5, 2022: Good morning, my name is Wayne (redacted). I was with you in the ambulance and on the emergency call for you and your friends' family and have had a few updates since that day but I was wondering how you all are

The second text message Ang received was from a paramedic named Wayne. Although he had received some updates on the teenager, he hoped to find out more through direct contact. He explained that the reason was so he could pass the information on to “some of our volunteers as we often don’t hear about how people are doing.”

Texts from paramedics inspire people on social media to write similar stories

One of the heartbreakingly sweet comments came from Wayne himself! This led to a heartwarming interaction between the two, as seen below.

Social media comments. Wayne Marshall: Not a day goes by that I don't think about that horrible day for you. I think about how you are all the time and from time to time we even talk about you and what you've been through since then. Ang: Thank you so much. Heart emoji. I appreciate you all so much!!

In addition to the paramedics who confirm that they often think about the people they help, there are others like Ang who share their own experiences. Together, they remind us how many caring people there are in the world.

“In 2017, a relative of mine died in a car accident. Three days later, the paramedic came to our house and cried with us. He assured us that he had done everything he could,” says one person. “I will never forget him.”

“I went to a hospital once and one of the paramedics saw my father two years later in a cafe and asked how I was. He remembered him and me,” says another. “I think about it all the time.”
