The Ritavi Magistrate’s Court in Tzaneen, Limpopo, has sentenced two men found guilty of rape in separate cases, one of whom raped a mentally disabled girl.

Lebo Xigombo Malatjie, 28, was sentenced to ten years in prison on Wednesday after being found guilty of raping a mentally disabled girl, who was 17 at the time of the incident, in 2015.

The court heard that on 3 October 2015, at about 6pm, the victim was on her way home in Mokgolobotho village outside Nkowankowa when she encountered Malatjie, who unexpectedly grabbed her and forcibly dragged her into an abandoned one-room house.
