The death of Matthew Perry prompted several federal agencies to take action. In October, Perry was found dead in his hot tub in Pacific Palisades. His assistant called 911, but emergency responders were unable to revive him and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Federal authorities intensify investigation into the death of Matthew Perry; the following is in the reports

According to TMZ, the US Postal Inspection Service is currently working with the DEA to determine the source of the ketamine that killed him. Law enforcement sources confirm that federal investigators are being deployed to find out if drugs were received in the mail for Perry. Postal inspectors are contributing their knowledge of package tracking and other mail-related investigative techniques.

According to the above news outlet, local police, along with the DEA, had been investigating Perry’s death for months. The toxicology report concluded that the cause of death was acute effects of ketamine use. Although he had received ketamine infusion therapy for mental health issues more than a week before his death, an autopsy conducted by the medical examiner found that he had not gotten the drug from there. This suggests that he may have obtained it from sources other than medication.
