Six people, including a child, died in a road accident near Hassan

Hassan: Six members of the same family were killed instantly when a car collided with a container vehicle on the outskirts of Hassan town in Karnataka at around 6:30 am on Sunday.

Two women, three men and a child were killed in the traffic accident on National Highway 75.

The deceased were identified as Narayanaswamy, Sunanda, Ravikumar, Netra, Chetan and Rakesh, all of whom belonged to the same family.

The deceased are said to be natives of Karahalli, Taluk Hosakote, Chikkaballapur district.

The family had gone to visit a sick relative in Mangaluru and was on their way home when the accident occurred.

The car hit a guardrail, crossed into the adjacent lane and rammed an oncoming truck carrying freight containers.

It is alleged that the accident was due to the driver’s negligence.

The car was wrecked beyond recognition and the police had great difficulty recovering the bodies.
