Teenager shot in the head Saturday night in North Philadelphia – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Philadelphia police spokesman said a teenager was ambushed and shot in the head in North Philadelphia on Saturday night.

The shooting occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Fairmount Avenue, according to police, when a car stopped near the teenager. Three people got out of the car and began shooting.

The 16-year-old boy was shot twice and suffered a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Officials took him to a nearby hospital where he is in critical condition.

There was no large crowd present at the time of the shooting, but police said a crowd later formed at the scene.

The police said investigators were on site. No weapons have been found so far and no one has been arrested.
