Man found dead in water in Ruskin

RUSKIN, Fla. – Hillsborough County officials are investigating after a man was found dead in the water in Ruskin Saturday night.

The sheriff’s office said it received a call shortly after 6:30 p.m. about a possible shooting near a dock on Bahia Beach Boulevard.

When detectives arrived on scene, they called the marine unit, which reportedly recovered a man from the water a short time later.

Investigators are working with the medical examiner’s office to identify the man and determine the cause of death.

The sheriff’s office believes this is an isolated incident and poses no danger to the public.
