Suspect in fatal shooting falls from car while trying to escape police in Aurora on Friday

AURORA | A suspect who fired a fatal shot and eluded police Friday night “fell from the moving vehicle” he was driving, crashing his car and requiring him to be hospitalized.

Police were called to the 3600 block of Zeno Way around 10:45 p.m. after gunshots were reported.

“When officers arrived, they saw an adult male fleeing in a vehicle,” police said in a social media post.

Additional officers arrived at the scene and pursued the suspect as he drove away.

“When the suspect turned, he fell out of the moving vehicle,” police said. “The car subsequently crashed nearby.”

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The man who was shot was treated at the scene. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his gunshot wounds.

The suspect was charged with first degree murder.

The shooting victim will be identified by the coroner at a later date.
