EFFECTS: Hail is our biggest threat. Any storm that develops could also bring frequent lightning, heavy rains and destructive gusts of wind. The tornado danger is isolated and low.

TREND: On Monday, showers and thunderstorms will tend to occur later and later. An organized line of storms could make it over the Blue Ridge Mountains into central Virginia this evening. This would increase our severe weather risk with damaging winds. Or we could see a more disrupted line of storms. We will be watching this closely.

Temperatures will rise above 25 degrees on Monday and due to high humidity, the atmosphere will be so unstable that there could be some strong to severe storms. It will not be rainy everywhere until the evening, but in the areas where it does rain, you should beware of hail and destructive winds.
