19-year-old arrested in connection with fatal shooting in 2023

PHOENIX – A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with a February 2023 shooting that left an 18-year-old dead.

Jeremiaha Austin, 18, was walking home in the area of ​​16th Street and Baseline Road around 10 p.m. on February 16, 2023. According to officials, he was walking with a family member when he was shot.

Austin was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

More than a year after his death, 19-year-old Exzavion Williams was arrested on murder and robbery charges in Austin, police said Saturday.

Williams was arrested for first-degree murder and armed robbery.
