The severe storm surge on Saturday

WICHITA, Kansas (KWCH) – A Level 4 weather warning is in effect across much of the state on Saturday, Memorial Day weekend. Below, you can recap how the storms developed across Kansas.

Update 7pm: A tornado warning is in effect for Harper County in southern Kansas until 8 p.m. At 7:15 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was near Hazelton, moving east-northeast at 40 mph. Golf ball-sized hail is possible in this storm.

Update 6pm: Golf ball sized hail was reported south of Coldwater. The storm is moving east and there is a risk of very large hail. Severe Thunderstorm Warning in the following Kansas counties: Barber, Comanche, Edwards, Pawnee, Stafford, Edwards, Kiowa, Pratt, Stafford, Osborne and Rooks.
