27-year-old man killed in shooting in Belmont on Friday

BELMONT – A 27-year-old man was shot and killed in Belmont Friday night, police said.

Belmont police officers responded to reports of shots fired around 8 p.m. Friday near Hiller and Irwin streets near O’Donnell Park, where they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention from paramedics, the man was pronounced dead, police said.

The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and investigators are following up on several leads, police said. No arrests have been announced so far.
