Ottawa police have filed four charges against a 56-year-old teacher. He is accused of sexual crimes against an underage student.

Darren Green was charged with two counts of sexual assault, sexual harassment and sexual exploitation.

The alleged offences occurred between 2015 and 2018 and involved a girl under the age of 18, police said in a news release. Police said Green was employed by the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board at the time, but did not say where.

Green was charged on Thursday and is scheduled to appear in court later that day, police said.

According to police, investigators from the sexual abuse and child abuse unit fear there may be more victims.

Anyone with information, including anyone else concerned, is asked to call the unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5944 or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
