Three biggest games for the Houston Texans according to the 2024 NFL schedule

Every offseason, the NFL schedule reveal is one of the most important news. The marquee matchups are revealed and predictions can begin to be made.

The Houston Texans are heading into their 2024 schedule with some momentum. They transformed the franchise a year ago. After going 3-13-1 two seasons ago, they went 10-7 last season. Two key elements of a franchise – a head coach and a quarterback – made the big difference, both in their first season.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans and star quarterback CJ Stroud enter their second season together, and the star-studded Texans have a complete and complete team as they look to compete for the Super Bowl this season.

That said, what are the three “must-see” games for the Houston Texans on their 2024 NFL schedule? Justin Churchill from A to Z Sports explains it.

The first marquee matchup listed was the Texans vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only will a promising team be tested by back-to-back Super Bowl champions, but Stroud will have the opportunity to face Patrick Mahomes.

“This one is a no-brainer. We’re already talking about a top-five QB in Stroud and perhaps the most talented QB we’ve ever seen in Mahomes, who is on track to win the GOAT title” , wrote Churchill.

On the road, against the best quarterback in the league, this game could be a statement for Stroud and the Texans.

Next, Churchill listed the Texans against the Miami Dolphins – and more specifically, Derek Stingley against star wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

“This game should be pure cinema. It’s one of the best CBs in the league against one of the best WRs,” Churchill wrote.

The confrontation is simple. Hill is a vital part of the Dolphins offense, and if Stingley can stop him, the Texans should be able to pull out a victory.

The last of three must-see matchups was the Texans against their in-state rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. With the game coming up in Arlington, good friends Stroud and Cowboys star Micah Parsons will finally get the chance to battle it out on the field.

“As we’ve seen, Stroud and Micah Parsons are very good friends outside of football. But Parsons is a beast, and the offensive line will have their hands full,” Churchill continued.

This season, the best team in Texas can be determined on the field, and Stroud will have to defeat Team USA and Parsons in Arlington on the Cowboys’ home field.
