City orders unlicensed business in North Buffalo to close

The owner of a North Buffalo business was ordered to cease all operations by the City of Buffalo Department of Permits and Inspection Services, city spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge reported .

The agency noted that the business was operating without a license, DeGeorge noted.

The order follows the gathering of a large crowd that Buffalo police observed around 2:30 a.m. Saturday outside the establishment at 1783 Hertel Ave., near the corner of Vorhees Avenue, DeGeorge said.

According to the report, police issued citations to the owner for operating an illegal speakeasy, including employing an unregistered bouncer, consuming and possessing alcohol in public places and other violations.
