Drake’s Houston home turns out to be a $15 million ranch

The 37-year-old Toronto-born artist purchased a $15 million ranch northwest of the city. The 313-acre Inn at Dos Brisas property was once an iconic resort that provided a country retreat for city dwellers from Austin or Houston. It’s about 70 miles northwest of Houston, halfway between Navasota and Brenham.

An entity called Passionate Farms LLC purchased the ranch in October from Houston investor Douglas Bosch, according to deeds recorded in Washington County.

Passionate Farms is registered to the Los Angeles address of DreamCrew, an entertainment company co-founded by Drake, according to Texas Secretary of State records.

High-end real estate magazine Robb Report earlier published an article speculating that Drake was the buyer.

Listing agent Tonya Currie of the Lifestyle Ranch & Home Group at Compass could not disclose the buyer, but said the Brenham area has become a popular destination for second homes among the wealthy.

“Chappell Hill-Brenham is no longer isolated. It’s basically an extension of Houston, especially if you have a helicopter,” Currie said. “We’ve definitely seen more celebrity interest (in the area) than we’ve seen in a long time.”

Currie said the Inn at Dos Brisas sold for top dollar after 27 showings in two months.

Last fall, Drake released the song “7969 Santa” with an outro from Snoop Dogg, saying “Live from Chapel Hill/Where the South was won, whatever that means.”

Some have speculated that this is a reference to the Chappell Hill area, a small town off US 290 near the Inn at Dos Brisas.

Shortly before this song’s release, Drake posted videos on social media driving around a rural property, saying in a fake Southern accent, “We’re done making country music with y’all, man… We said we were going to do this for a long time. years – we do it today. The sale is made.

Drake then added that the property has enough space for 10 horses, adding that “people need a nice place for their horse to stay.”

The Inn at Dos Brisas features equestrian trails and a 60,000-square-foot indoor equestrian arena – one of the largest in Texas, according to Compass.

The sprawling property includes an infinity pool, tennis courts, spa, two ponds stocked with largemouth bass, a 42-acre organic farm, a 7,000-bottle wine cellar and a rose garden often used for weddings and events. The ranch has five Spanish-style haciendas and four casitas ranging from 800 to 1,795 square feet.

Bosch and his wife Jennifer, the sellers, purchased the ranch in 2000 as a family retreat but saw its potential as a getaway and spent millions of dollars converting it into a resort. The inn operated from approximately 2003 to 2020, closing during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Compass.
