Denton, Texas: Police investigate fatal overnight shooting

DENTON, Texas – One person died in an overnight shooting in northwest Denton, police said.

Denton police responded to several callers reporting gunshots in the 3200 block of W. Windsor Drive around midnight on Saturday, May 25. The callers told police they saw a pickup truck, possibly involved in the shooting, drive into a nearby field, police said in a statement.

Officers found the truck and found two men with gunshot wounds. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police initially did not release any further information about the victims.
