Houston woman’s car window shattered during terrifying storm

US News

A Houston woman was nearly blown away last week when terrifying storm winds pushed her parked car into a curb and blew out the rear window while she was inside.

Darlene Brown was going to pick up her brother from work at the Wells Fargo Plaza in downtown Houston when the massive storm system passed through on May 16, KTRK reported.

The storm left Brown’s brother stuck in her apartment building’s elevator — while she was stuck in her car parked outside, she told the outlet.

“I thought I was going to explode in the air,” Brown recalled of the harrowing moment when high winds moved his car and blew out the back window.

“I really felt like I was going up in the air. It felt like he picked it up and moved it, and I thought he was going to take it away,” Brown said.

Local attorney Michael Lombardino was parked behind Brown at the time, and his dashboard camera captured the crazy moment his car was pushed onto the curb.

The storm eventually passed, but not before severely damaging the Wells Fargo building and much more. Brown was able to remove herself from the field and return home – only to discover that a tree had fallen on her house.

“It couldn’t be worse. I just say, well, I don’t know what we’re going to do now,” she lamented.

Brown was able to cut and remove the tree, which did not cause major damage to her home, she told KTRK.

However, his car is still under repair.
