Houston Teacher Appreciation Week food deals: Whataburger, McDonald’s, more

HOUSTON – It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and several companies are honoring educators with gifts and deals.

Here’s a look at some of the food deals teachers can claim this week in the Houston area.

Comforting foodies

Comfort Foodies, located at 8128 North Sam Houston Pkwy W, Ste B, invites all teachers to take advantage of a 20% discount from May 7-10 in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week. Teachers with valid professional ID are eligible.

Halal Guys (Houston Metro Area)

Teachers receive 10% off May 8-10 upon presentation of valid ID at checkout.

Insomnia cookies

Teachers and school staff receive a free classic cookie with proof of employment May 6-12.

The Sports Bar & Grill locker room

From May 6-10, teachers can receive free homemade chips and queso, plus a 10% discount on their orders. Throughout the week, The Locker Room will be offering teachers special gifts and coupons as part of the celebration. Teachers can present their badge or ID for the transaction.

Logan Truck Stop

Teachers can benefit from 20% off entry upon presentation of valid ID between May 6 and 10.

McAlister’s Deli

From May 6 to 12, educators can get a free large sweet tea, an unsweetened tea, a half sweet tea and a half unsweetened tea or a half lemonade and a sweet/unsweetened tea (flavors excluded) in participating establishments. You must present a valid ID at checkout. Limited to one per person.

McDonald’s of Houston

Teachers and school staff can show their ID to receive a free breakfast combo at participating restaurants in Greater Houston from May 6-12.

MOD Pizza

From May 6-9, teachers can buy one, get one free pizza or salad in MOD format with a valid work ID. The offer is valid in store only.

Whataburger

From 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., May 6 to 10, teachers can show their school ID card. Whataburger will offer:

• a free taquito, breakfast on a bun or honey butter chicken biscuit

• A WhataTeacher table tent (while supplies last)

• 63 teachers will be selected to receive a $1,000 grant for their school
