Metro Rail overhead section closed for work

Metro Rail trains will remain underground this week, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority announced.

According to the announcement, the overhead portion of the rail system will be closed for construction from next Tuesday to Sunday.

Trains will stop at the Allen Medical Campus station, where shuttle service will operate every 20 minutes to take passengers to the surface stops from Fountain Plaza to Canalside station. NFTA employees will be available to provide assistance.

The NFTA said construction will include improvements to the roadbed and electrical system. For more information, visit NFTA.com.
