1 dead, 2 injured after three-car crash in Clinton County

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A woman died and a man and his son were injured in a three-car crash on Business 27 in Olive Township, Clinton County.

Michigan State Police reported that MSP Lansing Post troopers responded to the crash around 3:30 p.m. Friday.


Officials said an 87-year-old woman from Laingsburg was driving a Ford F150 pickup truck southbound on Business 27. She failed to yield the right of way before turning left onto Price Road and crashed in front of a Chevy Silverado pickup truck. A 31-year-old man from Lansing was driving the Silverado and his 11-year-old son was in the car.

In the accident, the two cars then collided with a Chevy Suburban driven by a 65-year-old man from Eaton Rapids.

Emergency responders took the 87-year-old woman to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. They treated the driver of the Silverado and his son and released both at the scene.

The 65-year-old driver of the Suburban suffered no injuries.

According to authorities, the investigation revealed that the woman was not wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
