Jeremy Renner admits he will never fully recover from his snow plow accident

Mayor of Kingstown Lead actor Jeremy Renner is grateful to be able to walk, let alone act, again after his highly publicized snowplow accident on New Year’s Day last year, but admits that he’s unlikely to recover 100% after the ordeal.

Speaking to People, Renner discussed his recovery process, admitting that while he has made remarkable progress over the past year and a half, he has had to “accept” that he will never be fully healthy again.I had to accept it for the rest of my life. Nothing will be normal or like it was before the accident. By the way, I’m OK with that. It makes my life better. I’m healthier because of it,” he said. “I can focus more on my health and well-being than ever before because I have to. Recovery will take as long as it takes to get out of this old hot body mess. This way I could truly accept that it will be forever.

Renner has been undergoing rigorous physical therapy since the incident, which occurred at his Nevada home when his snowcat crushed him and pinned him under. He suffered over 30 broken bones throughout his body, blunt chest trauma and severe blood loss. After undergoing multiple surgeries and pushing his body to the limit in his effort to return to a normal life, the 53-year-old actor sped up his recovery and worked with Brooks Running to regain his speed and momentum. “It helped me get a positive mindset about my joints. Those damn shoes had good cushioning and that really helped!” he said. “(Brooks) has that ‘let’s run there’ attitude that is really kind of symbolic of both my recovery journey and everyone else’s, because it’s not just limited to me — everyone has their own journey. Everyone has their own obstacles. I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Jeremy Renner returns for season 3 of “Mayor of Kingstown”

About a year after the accident, Renner returned to work to produce the third season of Mayor of Kingstown, in which he returns as the titular “Mayor” Mike McLusky. Renner recently claimed he felt overworked when he returned to the Mayor of Kingstown, physically and mentally exhausted from the long hours and strenuous tasks he had to perform while filming the Paramount crime drama, and even from sleeping on set. He also revealed his fear of returning to work, although he gradually embraced the challenges.
