Woman shot during meal for family member in Decatur, police say

ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – A 30-year-old woman was shot and killed Friday night while hosting a dinner for a family member in DeKalb County, Atlanta police said.

At around 7 p.m., officers were called to a home in the 2000 block of Chesnut Hill Circle in Decatur. Attendees reported that a large crowd had gathered outside the home to eat when they heard gunshots several houses away. The woman who was standing with the others was hit.

The woman’s friends took her to a local hospital, where she later died, police said.

Police have not named any suspects or said whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
