Why Tamar Braxton rejected the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ offer

Tamar Braxton is in no rush to pick up a peach for The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The singer and Braxton Family Values Former Student Says She Turned Down Chance To Become One Of Bravo’s Girls RHOA Housewives.

“I’ve had conversations, but the truth is I can’t sit around in makeup and put on a wig and get my face beaten to chat with a bunch of bitches for nothing,” Braxton told Carlos King in a live episode of his Reality with the king podcast. “I can not do it. What does this bring to my life? Like, what’s the argument? I can’t.”

For Braxton, positive representation is worth more than Real Housewivesmoney. “Let me tell you something: Not all money is good money,” she told the crowd during the podcast recording. “That’s simply not the case. And, you know, here’s what I say: I won’t miss what’s mine. It’s not worth it mentally for me to sit here and argue with another beautiful black woman over nothing so other people can think that’s what we’re doing.

She added: “At some point you have to take responsibility for what you put on the TV screen. I don’t want to be part of that kind of television. I want to create epic, enjoyable, funny, good, relevant, epic television.

Braxton isn’t the only celebrity to report a snub RHOA producers. TLC singers Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas said Entertainment tonight in 2019, they also turned down the chance to star on the show, with T-Boz claiming he was asked four times.

“That’s it, I don’t play like that,” T-Boz said at the time. “Like, I don’t argue. I’m too old to argue. And first of all, I don’t argue with anyone I don’t care about. If I care about you, I will take the time to do it. But I don’t chat with any adult women. What? I’ll end up going to jail for real. Like, I don’t know how to do that.

Chilli joked: “And I couldn’t save her because if she left, I’d be there with her.”
