Police investigate death of three-month-old child

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — Police are investigating after a three-month-old baby was found unconscious and later died at a Cabell County hospital.

A Facebook post from Milton police said officers found the baby unconscious and emergency services were called to the scene Thursday evening. The baby was taken to a hospital but died Friday afternoon.

The investigation is being conducted by the MPD, the West Virginia State Police and the Cabell County District Attorney’s Office.

The West Virginia Department of Human Services and the Bureau for Social Services released a statement Saturday confirming the incident, but no further details were provided.
