Washington State Patrol officer hit and run on foot in hit-and-run incident – ​​Dailyfly

KINGS COUNTY – A Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper suffered a sprained foot during a traffic stop on SB I-405 near 70th in Kirkland, Washington. On May 23, 2024, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper was on a routine traffic stop when he sustained the injury.

The officer returned to his patrol car as he checked traffic to make sure there was no vehicle approaching in lane 1. The officer noticed a vehicle in lane 2 and continued to approach the driver’s door to get back into the patrol car. The vehicle in lane 2 abruptly changed lanes and drove straight toward the officer. Fortunately, they were able to turn in front of the patrol car, but as the vehicle passed, it ran over the officer’s foot and continued south on I-405. The officer suffered a sprained foot, bruising, and muscle strain.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a Toyota Rav4, but investigators are not sure.

WSP investigators are looking for witnesses who were in the area at the time of the incident.
