61-year-old Texan dead after accident at Rugged Mountain Ranch in McAlester | News

PITTSBURG COUNTY, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a 61-year-old Texas man died after his Jeep overturned at Rugged Mountain Ranch near McAlester.

OHP said Wilbur Owen of Copper Canyon, Texas, was skiing up a steep rocky trail on Rugged Mountain Ranch, about 35 miles east of McAlester, shortly after midnight Saturday.

According to OHP, he was not wearing a seat belt or helmet.

According to OHP, Owens’ Jeep overturned and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
