Iranian opposition calls for action after attack on dissidents in London

Exiled Iranian Prince Reza Pahlavi and other leading opposition figures have condemned the attack by supporters of the Islamic Republic on anti-regime protesters and called on the British government to take action.

Exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Iranian government supporters following a violent attack on Iranian dissidents in London. “It is time to send a message to the Islamic Republic that the intimidation, violence and threats by its network of radical Islamic centers and allies will not be tolerated,” said Pahlavi in ​​response to the incident.

The attack occurred on Friday during a memorial ceremony at the Dewan Al-Kafeel Community Centre in Wembley dedicated to the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who was killed in a helicopter crash. Iranian dissidents protesting outside the event were attacked by regime loyalists, leaving at least four people injured.

Masih Alinejad, a leading Iranian political activist, reiterated his condemnation of the attacks and stressed the urgency of the situation. on the social media platform X: “Today, supporters of the Islamic Republic in London violently attacked opponents, injuring several people, including a female protester… Iranians call for unity and demand immediate and decisive action by the British government and police to counter this aggression.”

British citizen and human rights activist Nazanin Boniadi also expressed her horror at the attacks and called on the Metropolitan Police to act quickly. “I am appalled by the latest brutal attack by supporters of the Islamic Republic on their opponents in Britain. The Metropolitan Police must immediately investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice,” said Boniadi.
