A rounded conclusion to Red Dead 3 would not prevent some returnees

Highlights

  • While Red Dead Redemption 3 may explore earlier times, featuring Dutch, Hosea, or a new protagonist, it could just as easily follow Jack Marston’s adult life in a new era of crime.
  • Even though a game directed by Jack Marston takes the series to the 1920s and moves away from traditional Wild West themes, Sadie Adler and Charles Smith could make a comeback.
  • While nothing is confirmed yet, Rockstar could continue the tradition of having past characters appear in new titles, with Sadie and Charles both being characters who could offer Jack valuable advice.

Although it has not yet been officially confirmed by Rockstar, many fans hope that Red Dead Redemption 3 will be the studio’s next big project after the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2025. Considering how successful 2018 was Red Dead Redemption 2 for Rockstar, a sequel is a real possibility, but fans are already debating what the core setting and storyline of this title should look like.

Naturally, Red Dead Redemption 3 could be the earliest publication of the trilogy and perhaps tell the story of young Dutch and Hosea, who lay the foundation for the later Van der Linde gang. Alternatively, RDR3 could build on the story of 2010 Red Dead Redemptionwhich describes the adult life of Jack Marston after his appearance as the protagonist of RDREpilogue. Although this particular setting would lose much of the traditional Wild West charm of previous games, it could still leave room for people like Sadie Adler.

Simon Pearson is a great chef in Red Dead Redemption 2, but it would be even more fun if players took over cooking for people in the next game.

A Red Dead Redemption 3 led by Jack Marston still leaves room for old characters

Red Dead Redemption 3 could easily follow Jack Marston after the events of the first two games, potentially exploring Jack in combat during World War I before moving on to an unrecognizable world of organized crime in the 1920s. Of course, this would unfortunately destroy the basic elements of the red death Franchise like horseback riding and traditional cowboy shootouts, but the game could still succeed as a bold mix of the core gameplay of red death And Grand Theft Auto.

With Jack as the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 3 would also continue a tradition for the franchise, with the protagonists of the epilogue starring in the next chronological title. John Marston was famously the focus in Red Dead Redemption 2Since Jack was the main protagonist of the predecessor, the character’s role in the epilogue of the first game could be a big hint about Rockstar’s future plans for this character.

Rockstar needs to make up for lost time with Sadie and Charles in RDR3

This game would have to take place well into the 20th century, with the increasing dominance of cars, federal laws and urban spaces making the traditional outlaw lifestyle impossible. While Red Dead Redemption 3 would lose much of the IP’s former identity, popular characters from previous games could still appear without feeling out of place. By the end of the 2010s Red Dead Redemptionnot many main characters are still alive, although Sadie Adler and Charles Smith are known to have survived the events of RDR2.

Sadie and Charles are two of the most popular characters in RDR2 thanks to her loyalty to Arthur and John, so that her absence in the 2010s Red Dead Redemption all the more striking. Both Sadie and Charles are said to have been during the events of the late 20s RDR2which means they could easily appear in a 1920s set Red Dead Redemption 3 in their 40s. While Jack may have trouble adjusting to the new ways of the world, an appearance by people like Sadie could remind him of his roots and remind him of the sacrifice many people made to ensure his safety as a child.

Of course, there is currently no confirmation about Red Dead Redemption 3the game’s setting could be very different from the one that features Jack Marston as one of the last cowboys. However, there is a chance that the franchise could come full circle by following the traditions of its protagonist and there would still be room to see some familiar faces, despite the major differences in gameplay that this setting would bring.
