Worcester becomes a zombie wasteland for Walking Dead shooting

WORCESTER, MA – From a fake subway station to graffiti-damaged stores, Worcester was transformed into a mini-replica of New York City for the production of the second season of “The Walking Dead: Dead City.”

The AMC zombie show, a spinoff featuring characters from “The Walking Dead,” was filmed at multiple locations in Worcester and will even close the MBTA Commuter Rail platform for most of the day Wednesday.

Worcester has served as a filming location for numerous films in recent years, including “Wakanda Forever,” the remake of “Fletch,” “American Hustle” and “Don’t Look Up!” and Hallmark Channel’s “Christmas on Ice,” which features the city’s winter oval skating rink.
