Jeremy Renner is back on the set of the Mayor of Kingstown after snowplow accident: “A soldier never leaves the battle”

Jeremy Renner is back in action! A year and a half after his snow plowing accident, the Hollywood star is back with the highly anticipated third season of Mayor of Kingstown. Paramount+ released a special video on social media, giving glimpses of the action-packed web series while also confirming the release date. Mayor of Kingstown 3 promises more stunts and drama this season and will premiere on June 2 on the streaming platform.

“More stunts. More drama. @jeremyrenner is back in business. Season 3 of #MayorOfKingstown premieres June 2nd, only on #ParamountPlus!” the caption read.

The video showed fascinating clips from the series, especially Renner performing exciting stunts and action sequences as “new players and Russians” enter the battle. The MCU star will return as Mike McLusky, a member of a powerful family in the prison town of Kingstown, Michigan.

As the new clips show, the pressure is mounting as Mika must face a new enemy amid the drug war raging within the prison walls: the Russian mafia. Things get even more complicated when a familiar face from the past threatens to undermine the mayor’s efforts to bring peace.

Jeremy Renner feels “great” to be back in action

“It feels great to be back. We just came out of a strike and it all happened by accident. It’s nice to get the gang back together. A soldier never leaves the fight,” Renner says in the video. The actor also shared how he did some “brutal” stunts. “For me personally, it’s surprising that I was even able to try. I wasn’t sure if I was capable of it. No injuries, but I may have hurt Hugh’s feelings,” he joked.

Executive producer Hugh Dillon, who also plays a major role in season 3, shared details about Renner’s return and the show. “From where Jeremy was then to where we are now, and seeing what he does, it’s a joy to be a part of it,” he said. Hugh also revealed that the actor did some of his own stunts and the series is a must-watch.

In addition to the open details, Renner also talked about what fans can expect in the upcoming season, including the Russian power coming into play and the arrival of Merle Callahan as things get “bigger and more intense.”

“Everything about this show is a cinematic miracle,” they add.

The third season of “Mayor of Kingstown,” co-created by Oscar nominees Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, will also star Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi and Hamish Allan-Headley, among others.
