Person attacked and stabbed in Richmond alley

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Police say one person was hospitalized Friday afternoon after allegedly being attacked in an alley in Richmond’s Museum District.

According to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) police, officers responded to a report of an aggravated assault in the 200 block of W. Franklin Street at approximately 12:18 p.m. on Friday, May 24.


When officers arrived at the scene, they found the unidentified victim in an alley. According to police, the victim said he was bending down to pick up an object from the ground when the attack occurred.

The victim said he was hit in the head and stabbed by the suspect – a 5’2″ black man – who then fled the scene. He was reportedly wearing a white tank top at the time of the attack.

According to police, the victim was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.

Richmond Police are leading the investigation into the attack and will reportedly increase patrols in the area.
