LATEST FORECAST

Here’s WAVE News meteorologist Ryan Hoke with his forecast.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A thunderstorm complex to the west will die down after midnight, bringing brief, isolated thunderstorms to some of our counties west of Louisville. However, most of us will stay dry during this time.

Lows will drop to 15 to 20 degrees overnight. A weak disturbance moving through mid to late Saturday morning will bring scattered showers with lightning, but these will disappear by the afternoon.

This means there is a chance of a sudden thunderstorm early in the evening. Highs will be around 27 degrees. The chance of sudden downpours on Saturday evening will subside as the sun sets, setting the stage for fog to form by early Sunday morning.

Lows will only drop to 15 degrees once more. Several rounds of strong to severe storms are underway for Sunday, setting the stage for a potential severe weather event and a WAVE Weather Warning Day. Storms between noon Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday may bring damaging winds, hail and tornadoes.

By 4am on Monday, our atmosphere will calm down considerably. There is still a scattered chance of storms on Monday afternoon as the actual cold front may be delayed a little, but this should be less of a concern than the situation on Sunday. In fact, the rest of next week is looking pretty quiet!
