Buffalo Rock Brewing Company set to open Oregon location

Located at the intersection of Seaman and South Wynn roads in Oregon, it will be the city’s first microbrewery.

OREGON, Ohio — A new brewery is coming to Oregon soon.

Buffalo Rock Brewing Company strives to be a social gathering place, says co-founder Troy Burns.

“We don’t have a bunch of TVs hanging all over the walls, and that’s exactly the purpose; I want people to come and sit and talk,” he said.

The brewery, located at the intersection of Seaman and South Wynn roads in Oregon, is the city’s first microbrewery. It’s also on the site of a former fire station, which was an easy decision for Burns.

“When we saw that and saw the garage doors, we were like ‘man, this really fits what we’ve been doing in Waterville,'” Burns said.

This brewery is Buffalo Rock’s second. Its original location opened in 2020 in Waterville during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oregon City Council members say the venture will bring great economic opportunities.

“We need all (residents) to visit Oregon, and this is going to introduce them to other parts of Oregon where life is very good,” said council member Beth Ackerman. “I really think it’s going to expand everything we have to offer instead of just putting all our eggs on one street.”

When the brewery officially opens in a month and a half, customers will be able to choose from 22 different beers on tap made in-house by enthusiasts of the craft, said brewer Geoff Burns.

“Once it’s done and you’ve done it, you’re sweating and lifting a bunch of heavy equipment, once it’s ready and people are saying it, you can see them enjoying it… ‘oh, it’s fulfilling,'” he said.

The owners not only want to serve high quality beers, but also become a pillar of the Oregon community.

“We want to be part of the community,” Troy Burns said. “We do that out there and want to play a big role in giving and other things to the community and we want to be known for that.”

Burns declined to provide an exact opening date for the brewery.
