Man arrested after allegedly shooting animal near Henryville school

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Friday after he allegedly shot an animal near a school, with some of the ammunition hitting school property. Police were called to Henryville School Friday morning during a sports festival regarding possible gunfire. More than a dozen officers and deputies were on scene and the school was placed on light lockdown. After the CCSO investigated, police arrested a man who lives near the school. Police said the man shot an animal with a shotgun, and some of the bullets hit school property. No students at the school were injured in the shooting. The man was arrested and charged with criminal recklessness in the handling of a firearm.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on Friday after he allegedly shot an animal near a school and some of the ammunition hit the school grounds.

Police were called to Henryville School on Friday morning during a sports event regarding possible use of firearms.

More than a dozen deputies and officials were on site and the school was gently cordoned off.

Following the CCSO’s investigation, police arrested a man who lives near the school.

According to police, the man had shot an animal with a shotgun and some pellets had landed on the school grounds.

No students at the school were injured in the shooting.

The man was arrested and charged with criminal recklessness with a firearm.
