24-year-old dies in Oakhurst murder, officials say

OAKHURST, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 24-year-old man was found dead Friday by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office after receiving a call about an unresponsive man in Oakhurst.

Officers said they arrived about five minutes after the 911 call came in around 10:30 a.m. and headed to the 42000 block of Shady Lane in Oakhurst to request medical assistance.

Upon arrival, officers said they attempted to resuscitate the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We are treating the death as a homicide. I will not go into detail about our victim’s wounds, but there are some wounds that we are concerned about,” said Lt. Ian Weaver.

The victim’s name was not officially released, although officials said he lived at the address where officers responded.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
