Cal Fire firefighter arrested and accused of exposing himself

A Cal Fire firefighter was arrested Thursday. He is accused of exposing himself in Rancho Cordova earlier this year, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said. The arrest stemmed from a March 30 incident when Rancho Cordova officers were called to a car wash on Sunrise Boulevard because a man had exposed himself in front of a woman and attempted to talk to her. Officers said the woman was able to drive away and contact authorities. Investigators later identified the suspect as 32-year-old Clifford Robinson. The sheriff’s office said Robinson had been arrested several years earlier for a similar offense and was a registered sex offender. They also found out he was a Cal Fire firefighter. Robinson was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on a charge of indecent exposure of his private parts in a public place. However, he paid the $10,000 bail and was released just hours later, officials said. “Due to Robinson’s position of trust in the public and his frequent and personal contact with the community, detectives are asking the public for help in identifying additional potential victims,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim or has information about Robinson is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 916-874-5115. KCRA 3 has reached out to Cal Fire for comment.
