Jorge Riverasalas arrested in connection with shooting in Sacramento County

The shooting occurred around 10 a.m. on May 5 at an apartment complex in the 7400 block of La Mancha Way.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. – A man was arrested Thursday, weeks after a man was hospitalized in Sacramento County, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting occurred around 10 a.m. on May 5 at an apartment complex in the 7400 block of La Mancha Way. Officials say the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Jorge Riverasalas, allegedly shot the victim in the head following an altercation.

The victim got into his car, drove away and called 911. Officers found the victim in the 6400 block of Mack Road after he stopped and took him to the hospital in critical condition, but his condition has since stabilized.

Riverasalas was arrested at work in the Natomas area, authorities said, and was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
