Four people arrested in drug investigation

In a joint operation with area law enforcement, Elyria police seized drugs and firearms and arrested four people while executing search warrants on residential properties on May 24.

The arrest warrants were obtained as part of an ongoing drug investigation that stemmed from neighborhood complaints about the homes, according to a news release from Elyria police Lt. Bill Lantz.

The Elyria Police Department, with assistance from the Lorain Police Department, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, executed two search warrants on residences in the 1100 block of East Avenue, the news release said.

“The Elyria Police Department remains committed to tackling issues that threaten the safety of our neighborhoods,” the press release said. “This successful operation underscores the importance of community involvement in the fight against drug-related crime.”

During the search, investigators seized three firearms, cocaine and MDMA (also known as ecstasy), drug paraphernalia and more than $500 in cash, the press release said.

As part of the investigation, the following Elyria residents were arrested:

• Windsor Terlonge, 42, charged with trafficking drugs with a school requirement (third-degree felony), possession of drugs (fifth-degree felony) and possession of a weapon while under disability (third-degree felony).

• Larry Williams, 40, charged with trafficking drugs while supervised by school (fourth-degree felony), two counts of possession of drugs (fifth-degree felony), possession of a weapon while under disability (third-degree felony) and receiving stolen property (fourth-degree felony).

• Charles Lewis, 49, charged with possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

• Jennifer Brown, 60, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.

All four people were taken to the Lorain County Jail, where they will be held pending arraignment in Elyria Municipal Court, the news release said.
